Zack Varner Quintet

Zack Varner Quintet is the Austin saxophonist-composer’s high-demand jazz and funk working band—Texas State jazz sax alum—whose Blues in the Nude, Zack Varner Funktet, Cannonball Adderley tribute nights, and Maceo Parker Uptown Up heat put stage-and-studio craft on Elephant Room and Monk’s Jazz bills with Tommy Howard and top-call players. Streaming and club calendars track the Funktet for rooms that want real jazz craft, not soft soft-smooth wallpaper. From bebop to hip-hop energy, still Zack Varner every single night on the road and stage around Austin.

Expect jazz-sax heat when Zack Varner Quintet hits the stage—Funktet fire, not a random open-mic Zack karaoke.
