About
Ünloco (often billed UNLOCO) is an American nu metal and alternative metal band formed in Austin, Texas, in 2000 by vocalist Joey Dueñas with Pete Navarrete on drums, Victor Escareño on bass, and Brian Arthur on guitar. They cut a loud, groove-oriented path on Maverick Records with debut Healing (2001) and follow-up Becoming I, mixing downtuned riffs, dramatic vocals, and melodic hooks that sat between White Zombie grit and early-2000s nu metal radio.
Standouts like “Face Down†and album deep cuts built a cult following on the Texas and national hard-rock circuit before a mid-2000s split. Reunions from 2014 onward put the band back on regional stages, including Austin rooms that still book early-era nu metal packages and nostalgia bills for fans who never left the genre behind.
Live sets lean heavy riffs, rap-rock energy, and power-ballad tension from the Healing and Becoming I years. Expect Austin-bred nu metal volume—groove, melody, and early-2000s attitude—when UNLOCO hits Texas rock and metal bills, club stages, and revival packages that want authentic local roots alongside the national sound of that era.
