About
Thomas Rhett Akins Jr. (born 30 March 1990 in Valdosta, Georgia) is a multi-platinum country star and the son of singer-songwriter Rhett Akins. Raised in a music household and based out of Nashville, he broke as both a hit songwriter and a frontman with a blend of slick contemporary country, R&B-tinged pop, and rowdy good-time rock & roll that made him one of the most bankable voices of modern mainstream country.
Studio albums from It Goes Like This and Tangled Up through Life Changes (a No. 1 all-genre Billboard debut), Center Point Road, Country Again: Side A, Where We Started, and About a Woman have produced a deep stack of radio smashes—most famously the autobiographical ballad “Die a Happy Man,†plus “Marry Me,†“Life Changes,†and more. Multiple Grammy nominations and massive touring (including stadium-scale bills) made him a defining country voice of the 2010s and 2020s, often writing about marriage, fatherhood, and small-town life with wife Lauren Akins.
Expect polished modern country with pop hooks and confessional ballads when Thomas Rhett plays Texas arenas and amphitheaters.
