The Pretty Reckless

The Pretty Reckless are the New York hard-rock band led by Taylor Momsen—ex-Gossip Girl actress turned full-time rock frontwoman with guitarist Ben Phillips. Debut Light Me Up and smash Make Me Wanna Die established bluesy hard rock; sophomore Going to Hell (2014) and title-track heat, plus Death by Rock and Roll and later cycles, put them on Active Rock radio and AC/DC support bills. Momsen’s snarl, dark humor, and well-crafted riffs left “chick rocker” stereotypes in the rearview; 2020s releases including Dear God–era confessionals keep the band packing theaters as a serious hard-rock unit, not a TV-spinoff novelty.
