The Maggie Valley Band

The Maggie Valley Band is a North Carolina group led by sisters Whitney and Caroline Miller, whose close harmonies sit at the center of a sound they describe as dark Appalachian music.

Raised around the mountain traditions of Maggie Valley, the sisters began with bluegrass and old-time influences before expanding into a broader blend of country, indie rock, folk and 1960s-inspired roots music.

Whitney contributes guitar, mandolin, harmonica and banjitar, while Caroline adds bass and percussion, giving the band a raw, handmade sound that can shift from intimate and haunting to driving and full-bodied.

Their songs draw heavily on heartbreak, faith, family, redemption and life in the mountains, delivered with honest storytelling and a strong sense of place.

Traditional Appalachian textures remain part of the foundation, but the band is not limited by them. Gospel-tinged harmonies, rock dynamics and original songwriting give The Maggie Valley Band a sound that feels both deeply regional and unmistakably modern.
