The High Cost of Playing God

The High Cost of Playing God is Austin metallic hardcore—fractured riffs, desperate vocals, and Converge-adjacent density with Dillinger-era technical bite and Every Time I Die groove under local bill pressure. A self-titled debut EP and the later Bastard release stack short, breathless tracks for Chess Club and regional rooms, while Safehouse sessions capture the live volatility that put the project next to Texas heavy calendars night after night.

Live they sell no-breath sets and no soft openers for all-ages floors. Expect dual-guitar chaos, seething yawps, and breakdown heat. Stream Bastard, watch the Safehouse set, and follow @thehighcostofplayinggod for tour dates and new drops as Austin metalcore hits the road hard again.
