Tanner Usrey

About

Tanner Usrey is a Texas-bred singer-songwriter who lives in the sweet spot where Red Dirt country, Southern rock and Americana collide. Raised in Prosper, Texas, Usrey built his following the old-fashioned way—writing hard-edged songs, grinding through the Texas touring circuit and developing a live show with considerably more muscle than your standard acoustic-country set.

His breakout came with songs like “Come Back Down” and “Beautiful Lies,” tracks that pair his raspy, soulful vocal with lyrics about busted relationships, bad decisions and the messy parts of real life. His influences run from George Strait and Wade Bowen to Tom Petty, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Whiskey Myers, which explains why his records can move from stripped-down country storytelling to full-throttle guitar rock without sounding forced.

Usrey's audience expanded well beyond Texas after “The Light” appeared in the Season 4 finale of Yellowstone. He signed with Atlantic Records and released his debut full-length album, Crossing Lines, in 2023. His more recent work includes These Days, continuing a sound built around gritty vocals, big guitars and songwriting that doesn't clean up the rough edges.

For fans of Whiskey Myers, Koe Wetzel, Zach Bryan, Southall and Pecos & The Rooftops, Tanner Usrey fits comfortably in that modern Texas-country lane—country at its core, but loud enough to shake a rock club.
