About
Sean McHargue is an Austin-born singer, songwriter and guitarist best known as the lead vocalist and co-founder of The Ransom Brothers. His music draws from Southern rock, outlaw country, Americana and blues, combining gritty guitar tones with heartfelt storytelling and a warm, weathered vocal style. McHargue formed The Ransom Brothers with guitarist Daniel Solis after the two met through a mutual friend and began playing open mics together. The project gradually expanded into a full band with bass, drums, fiddle and keyboards, creating a powerful sound influenced by classic Southern rock and contemporary Texas country.
As a songwriter, McHargue often builds songs around personal experiences, working life, relationships and everyday characters. His solo material includes “Watch the Money,” inspired by his time working at Allen’s Boots on South Congress, along with newer songs such as “Coke” and “Texas Man.” Alongside his solo performances, he continues to front The Ransom Brothers, whose music blends outlaw-country grit, blues-driven rock, layered instrumentation and strong vocal harmonies. The band’s releases include the album Resurgence, featuring songs such as “Talk of the Town,” “Why Does It Rain” and “Baby Doll.”
