Sam Greenfield

Sam Greenfield is a Philadelphia-born, Brooklyn-based saxophonist, composer and bandleader whose music lands somewhere between jazz, funk, pop and instrumental R&B. Rather than treating jazz like a museum piece, Greenfield builds bright, playful songs around punchy horn lines, deep grooves and melodies that stick with you long after the set ends.

Before stepping out as a solo artist, he toured and recorded with musicians including Cory Wong, Mariah Carey, Ed Sheeran, John Legend and Joss Stone. He has also performed with the progressive rock band Thank You Scientist, giving him a musical background that reaches well beyond straight-ahead jazz.

Greenfield’s live shows are polished without feeling stiff, combining serious musicianship with humor, movement and an easy connection with the crowd. Expect a lively full-band performance filled with funky rhythms, tight arrangements, blazing saxophone work and the kind of upbeat energy that can turn an instrumental show into a full-on party.
