Saddle Sores

The Saddle Sores are Austin’s country and rockabilly dance band formed in 2018—Jeremy Slemenda (guitar/vocals), Heather Rae Johnson (fiddle/vocals), Massimo Gerosa (piano), Chris Crepps (bass), and John McGlothlin (drums). Sets run Western Swing of the ’40s through honky-tonk ’50s–’60s into outlaw ’70s, with Tex-Mex, Texas blues, and rockabilly for good measure; White Horse residencies, Highball two-steps, ABGB, Central Market, and wedding/private-event bookings keep the dance floor full. Debut You Again and originals like You Say That and It’s All Gonna Be Alright sit beside classic country covers for rooms that want real swing, not soft pop-country wallpaper.
