About

Pete Yorn is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose music blends alternative rock, folk, indie rock and melodic pop. He broke through with his 2001 debut, musicforthemorningafter, an introspective, guitar-driven album featuring enduring songs including “Life on a Chain,” “Strange Condition,” “For Nancy (‘Cos It Already Is)” and “Lose You.” The record established Yorn as a distinctive songwriter with a weathered voice, memorable melodies and a talent for making deeply personal songs feel immediately familiar.

Throughout his career, Yorn has moved comfortably between full-band rock, stripped-down acoustic music and atmospheric pop. His catalog includes albums such as Day I Forgot, Nightcrawler, Back & Fourth, ArrangingTime, Caretakers, Hawaii and The Hard Way. He has also worked with an eclectic group of collaborators and producers, including Dave Grohl, Peter Buck, Frank Black and Butch Walker, while recording a celebrated collection of duets with Scarlett Johansson.

More than two decades after his debut, Yorn continues to write music marked by emotional honesty, understated hooks and a restless creative spirit. His songs often explore relationships, memory, uncertainty and the passage of time, balancing melancholy with warmth and resilience. Whether performing with a full rock band or alone with a guitar, Pete Yorn remains a compelling live artist and one of the most enduring singer-songwriters to emerge from the early-2000s alternative-rock scene.
