Molecular Steve

Molecular Steve is an Austin indie psychedelic collective that began as a father–son creative spark and grew into a nine-member band of veterans from the city’s rock underground—including players with ties to Meat Puppets, The Damnations, Grand Champeen, and Prescott Curlywolf. United by exploratory songcraft, they aim to rekindle “simple humanity” against modern noise: hooks, grit, and collaborative texture rather than a single front-person brand.

Their self-titled debut arrived in 2024 on Strolling Bones Records (vinyl/CD), with standouts like “Wolfman,” “Heavens to Betsy,” and later singles such as “Airborne Scooter.” Live dates span Continental Club and larger Austin rooms, with an ACL Music Festival footprint, SXSW showcases, and a 2026 3TEN ACL Live album-cycle show billed with multi-instrumentalist Leila Henly.
