Mike & Ian

Mike & Ian are Mike Wiebe and Ian MacDougall—frontman and guitarist of Texas punk institution Riverboat Gamblers—playing as a stripped, flexible duo. Flyers bill them plainly as Mike & Ian from Riverboat Gamblers, often stacked with scene peers for intimate Alley Bar–style nights and club bills.

Expect punk DNA first: Gamblers heat, covers, banter, and the long-running Mike-and-Ian chemistry fans know from side dates and acoustic turns. Riverboat Gamblers formed in Denton in 1997 and put down roots in Austin, with Wiebe’s theatrical vocals and MacDougall’s guitar defining decades of Texas punk. When they play as Mike & Ian, that history arrives leaner—songs, stories, and road-worn spark without needing the full five-piece every time.
