About
Micah Davis (born 8 June 1993 in Kingston, Jamaica), known as Masego, is a Jamaican-American multi-instrumentalist, singer, and producer who coined his blend of trap, house, R&B, and jazz as “TrapHouseJazz.” Raised in Newport News, Virginia, by a Jamaican father and African-American mother, he taught himself drums, piano, guitar, cello, and—most signature—saxophone, posting live-looping videos and improvising over other artists’ beats before formal releases.
Breakout came with the mostly improvised 2017 FKJ collaboration “Tadow,” followed by debut album Lady Lady (2018), the Grammy-nominated Studying Abroad: Extended Stay, the self-titled Masego (2023), and later Fix Your Face–era work. He’s guested with Drake, Kehlani, Kaytranada, Big Boi, JID, and others while headlining rooms that reward sax solos, looper craft, and silky R&B vocals as much as beats—a live show that feels like a band, a producer, and a jazz club at once.
Expect live-looped TrapHouseJazz, fluid saxophone, and late-night R&B energy when Masego plays Austin and Texas festival and club stages.
