About
Malcolm Todd Hobert (born 15 September 2003 in Los Angeles) is an American singer-songwriter and producer whose warm alternative R&B sits next to indie songwriter vulnerability. Raised in Pacific Palisades—his father Tim Hobert is a TV writer and producer known for The Middle; his sister Audrey Hobert is also a songwriter—he taught himself bass and guitar during the pandemic, released Demos Before Prom (2022), and skipped college after a viral TikTok run that turned bedroom demos into a national career.
Signed to Columbia after tracks like “Art House” and breakout “Roommates,” he expanded the Sweet Boy era into a full mixtape, then delivered debut album Malcolm Todd (2025) and sophomore Do That Again (2026), with streaming hits including “Earrings” and Hot 100 material such as “Chest Pain (I Love).” His writing balances playful romance, messy twenties feeling, and funky guitar textures influenced by Steve Lacy, Dominic Fike, and Omar Apollo.
He’s opened for Omar Apollo, played ACL Fest, and built a reputation for soft-edge vocals and generational bedroom-to-arena storytelling. Expect alt-R&B hooks, indie heartbreak, and California cool when Malcolm Todd hits Texas amphitheaters, festivals, and club stages.
