Magic Rockers of Texas

Magic Rockers of Texas are the kind of Austin power-pop band KUTX keeps calling back—Jim Campo out front, Will Grover and Chris Kues on guitars (and synth), Pat Ford on bass, McGarrity Stanley on drums. Euphonic Magazine’s Campo interview and KUTX’s Studio 1A session treat them as “certifiable Austin Music Darlings”: long residencies, Red River nights, and songs that sound like they were written for the third encore of a Thursday.

The Live on KUTX full set (including “Where Did My Life Go?”) is the public document—hooks first, attitude second, no interest in pretending to be from anywhere else. On Bandcamp and Spotify the singles stack the same way: short, bright, a little bruised. Their HITW residency model—every Thursday in August with rotating openers—is pure Austin logistics. Magic Rockers don’t reinvent power pop; they keep it employed, booked, and loud enough for Guadalupe Street.
