About
Hugo Pierre Leclercq (born 30 May 1994 in Nantes, France), known as Madeon, is a French musician, DJ, producer, and songwriter based in Los Angeles. He started composing at eleven, adopted the Madeon moniker around 2010 (an anagram of earlier alias Deamon), and exploded at seventeen with the YouTube live mash-up “Pop Culture”—thirty-nine songs performed in real time on a Novation Launchpad—which racked up millions of views within days and remains a landmark of online electronic music discovery.
Citing the Beatles and Daft Punk as core influences, he built a joyful electropop and French-house catalog: early singles and The City EP, debut album Adventure (2015), Grammy-nominated Good Faith (2019), and later Victory-era work, plus production and co-writing for major pop acts including Lady Gaga and Coldplay. His sound favors bright hooks, sleek arrangements, and dance-floor craft without abandoning song structure.
Live shows are high-concept electronic pop spectacles—hooks first, visual identity second—built for festivals and amphitheaters. Expect bright electropop, Launchpad-era craft, and main-stage electronic energy when Madeon tours U.S. markets including Austin and Central Texas outdoor dates.
