Lisa Gamache

Lisa Gamache is a longtime Austin singer-songwriter with roots reaching back to the city’s unruly 1980s music scene.

Raised in Houston, she began working professionally in music in the 1970s and later found her place in Austin, fronting punk and rock bands including the Ray Vons, Max & the Makeups and the party band Skank. She was also part of Dino Lee’s famously theatrical circle as a Jam & Jelly Girl.

These days, Gamache’s music leans toward roots rock, folk and sharply written singer-songwriter material, delivered with the perspective of someone who has lived through several eras of Austin music.

Her album Dragon Fly features contributions from respected players including Will Sexton and Lloyd Maines. She also performs with Lisa Gamache y Tres Mas, featuring Nick Ferrari, Allan Gill and Hector Muñoz.

Her shows carry plenty of local history, personality and hard-earned musical character without feeling stuck in the past.
