About

Jerry Douglas is the Dobro player who made resonator guitar sound inevitable across bluegrass, country, and Americana—Warren, Ohio-born, raised on his father’s band, and hired by the Country Gentlemen while still barely out of high school. Decades later he is the first name producers call when a track needs steel that can cry, laugh, and lead: Alison Krauss & Union Station, the Earls of Leicester, Strength in Numbers, and more than a thousand session credits from Paul Simon to Sierra Ferrell.

Multiple Grammy wins and CMA Musician of the Year trophies sit next to a solo career that refuses museum status—The Jerry Douglas Band, Transatlantic Sessions, and recent sets like The Set keep the instrument in motion. Onstage he is both sideman royalty and bandleader: forward-leaning, rhythmic, and allergic to nostalgia for its own sake. Jerry Douglas is still rewriting what a Dobro can do.
