Jay Webber

Jay Webber is an Austin-area singer-songwriter whose road-tested acoustic music lands somewhere between folk, blues, jazz, roots rock, and a little Latin heat. A full-time performer for more than two decades, Webber has carried his original songs through venues from Manhattan and Nashville to San Diego and Austin, building his shows around muscular, percussive guitar playing and lyrics meant to hold a room—not simply fill the background.

Webber has long taken pride in performing original material. Before settling into the Central Texas circuit, he hosted a songwriter showcase in Northern Michigan and described years spent bouncing around the country playing music full time.

These days, he is a familiar presence around Lakeway, Spicewood, and the surrounding Hill Country, appearing solo, with percussionist Danny Bongo, and occasionally with a full band. His sets have an earthy rhythmic pull—thoughtful enough for a listening room, but loose and lively enough to get a winery patio or neighborhood bar moving.
