James Hyland

James Hyland is the kind of songwriter who sounds right at home in a Texas bar with a guitar in his hands.

A founding member of the South Austin Jug Band, Hyland mixes Americana, country, bluegrass and roots rock with smart lyrics and stories pulled from highways, honky-tonks and the stranger corners of the American West.

His songs can swing, ramble, get a little dark and occasionally crack a grin—but the storytelling is always front and center.
