Hot Flash Heat Wave

Hot Flash Heat Wave is the San Francisco trio of Adam Abildgaard, Nick Duffy, and Ted Davis—friends who started as a garage band in Davis, California, and grew into hazy, guitar-forward indie rock often tagged surfer pop meets post-punk. “Gutter Girl,” from early album Neapolitan, became the streaming calling card: written when they shared a house and played Bay Area house shows, sticky and sunburned at once.

Records like Sportswear and 2026’s Butterfly in a Landslide push the dreamy grit further without losing the fun. Live they are high-energy and grin-first—the band your friends drag you to, then you stay for. Stream Gutter Girl, watch the official video, follow @hotflashheatwave.
