Holy Wave

Holy Wave is an Austin psychedelic rock / dream-pop band of childhood friends from El Paso—Ryan Fuson, Joey Cook, Kyle Hager, and Julian Ruiz—who relocated to Texas’s music capital and became regulars at Austin Psych Fest. Formed in the late 2000s DIY circuit, they trade guitar-hero jams for tranquil, glazed psych: Nuggets-style fuzz, shoegaze echo, and sun-baked surf haze on albums from Knife Hits and Interloper through Suicide Squeeze releases.

Half the band carries Mexican border roots; recording the full-length I’m DADA in Ensenada, Mexico marked a concentrated, expansive new chapter of subterranean pop. Earlier EPs and LPs built a quiet cult among psych fans who prefer restraint and atmosphere over volume contests. Expect woozy psych-pop and late-night Texas haze when Holy Wave hits club and festival stages.
