About
hey, nothing is an Atlanta-area emo-folk duo of Tyler Mabry (he) and Harlow Philips (they)—young songwriters who pair sharp, funny, wounded lyrics with acoustic-to-full-band indie energy. Barely out of their teens when the project broke, they write about growing up too fast: anxiety, grief, friendship, and messy romance, drawing comparisons from Noah Kahan folk to Front Bottoms / Modern Baseball emo wit.
The 2024 Maine EP—written in a cabin in Maine—was a breakthrough; 33° pushed rawer grief narratives, while singles like “Waiting Room” kept the intimate lane. Sold-out headline runs and coverage from NPR Music, Stereogum, and Alternative Press built a TikTok-native fanbase; album Hound and full-band touring (with bass and drums in the live unit) mark the next step. Expect harmony-forward emo-folk and confessional indie when hey, nothing hits club stages.
