Geordie Greep

Geordie Greep is an English guitarist, singer and songwriter known for turning rock music into something theatrical, technical and completely unpredictable.

He first gained attention as the frontman and lead guitarist of black midi, whose frantic blend of experimental rock, post-punk, jazz and progressive music earned a fiercely devoted following.

Greep launched his solo career with The New Sound, an ambitious album that stretches beyond conventional rock into jazz fusion, samba, salsa, funk, lounge music and dramatic orchestral arrangements.

His songs are often built around strange, exaggerated characters, with sharp humor and uncomfortable stories about ego, loneliness and modern masculinity.

Onstage, Greep combines virtuoso guitar playing with a commanding, eccentric vocal style. His performances can swing from smooth Latin grooves and tightly arranged jazz passages to loud, chaotic bursts of rock without warning.

It is challenging music, but it is also funny, energetic and surprisingly danceable.
