First Day Back

First Day Back is the rising second-wave emo band—heralded torchbearers recalling Cap’n Jazz vocal fire, American Football twinkle, and 90s midwest heart—whose debut album Forward and 196K monthly streams put vulnerability and passion on 29th Street Ballroom Austin, Club Congress Tucson, and national club tours. Formed 2024, Forward released June 2025; firstdayback.net and Spotify track tour with gapyear and Tiny Sounds free sing-alongs for rooms that want real punk craft, not soft soft-pop wallpaper. Paint and Sure heat, still first day every single night on the road and stage.

Expect emo-club heat when First Day Back hits the stage—second-wave fire, not a random open-mic First karaoke.
