Eagles of Death Metal

Eagles of Death Metal is an American rock band from Palm Desert, California, formed in 1998 by lifelong friends Jesse Hughes (vocals/guitar) and Josh Homme (drums/studio multi-instrumentalist of Queens of the Stone Age). Despite the name, they are not a death metal act—Homme once framed the sound as bluegrass slide, stripper-beat drums, and Canned Heat–style vocals: greasy, humorous, bluesy hard rock built for dance floors as much as pits.

Hughes is the permanent live ringmaster; Homme anchors studio records while touring lineups have featured friends from the desert-rock family. Albums include Peace Love Death Metal, Death by Sexy, Heart On, and Zipper Down. After the 2015 Bataclan tragedy and a long return to the road, the band remains a high-energy live project with Hughes leading current touring members. Expect swaggering desert rock and call-and-response chaos when EODM hits club and festival stages.
