Dax

Daniel Nwosu Jr. (born 22 March 1994 in St. John’s, Newfoundland), known professionally as Dax (often stylized DAX), is a Canadian singer and rapper raised in Ottawa by Nigerian immigrant parents. A former college basketball player (Casper College, Montana Grizzlies, Newman University), he wrote poetry and worked nights as a school janitor in Wichita while developing rap skills before uploading freestyles and originals online around 2016–2017.

Breakout tracks such as “Cash Me Outside” and especially the candid, multi-certified singles “Dear Alcohol” and “To Be a Man” made him a streaming and YouTube staple for confessional, faith-adjacent storytelling—switching between hyperspeed technical rap and slower, melodic singing. Albums include Pain Paints Paintings (2021) and From a Man’s Perspective (2024), with later Anger Management–era touring aimed at arenas and theaters across North America.

Expect emotional hip-hop and sung confessional anthems when Dax hits major U.S. tour stops, including Texas dates on package and headline runs.
