Chris Hoff & The Hill Country Half-Timers

Chris Hoff and the Hill Country Half-Timers deliver a hard-edged blend of modern country, traditional honky-tonk and guitar-driven Texas rock.

Hoff grew up on a family farm in western Nebraska, where the wide-open landscape and rural working life helped shape the direct, grounded character of his songwriting. After spending years developing his voice, guitar playing and original material, he moved with his family to Central Texas in 2017 and began building the project that became the Hill Country Half-Timers.

The band’s music balances classic-country storytelling with a heavier, more contemporary attack. Hoff’s songs lean into everyday struggles, independence and real-life experience, carried by a rugged vocal style and a full-band sound designed to hit with energy rather than polish away the rough edges. His early recording work included the EP It Doesn’t Matter, which helped establish his mix of old-school country influence and modern Texas grit. Chris Hoff and the Hill Country Half-Timers bring a straightforward, road-tested spirit to country music while keeping the sound broad enough to reach listeners drawn to Southern rock, outlaw country and roots-driven songwriting.
