About

George “Buddy” Guy (born July 30, 1936) is the Chicago blues guitar titan whose fierce tone and showmanship shaped generations of rock and blues—Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and John Mayer among them. A Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and multi-Grammy winner (including a ninth Grammy for Ain’t Done With the Blues), he helped define electric Chicago blues after moving from Louisiana, cutting classic sides and later global hits such as Damn Right, I’ve Got the Blues.

The “Buddy Guy 90” listing marks his BG90 birthday-year celebration: still touring in his ninetieth year with North American dates (including Texas stops such as ACL Live at the Moody Theatre) and a star-studded Radio City birthday concert. He owns Buddy Guy’s Legends in Chicago and remains a living bridge from postwar blues to modern stages. Expect raw Chicago blues, storytelling, and guitar fireworks when Buddy Guy hits the BG90 tour.
