Brother Magnum

Brother Magnum is an Austin-area singer, guitarist and seasoned soul man best known as the longtime lead vocalist of the high-energy show band Dysfunkshun Junkshun. Working solo, in acoustic-duo settings or with a full band behind him, Magnum brings the same big-stage charisma to a stripped-down room without needing the usual production fireworks.

His repertoire moves comfortably through classic soul, Motown, funk, rock and country, powered by a rich, commanding voice that can handle everything from smooth dinner-hour grooves to full-throttle dance-floor material. Local performance listings frequently bill him as an acoustic guitarist, but “background music” undersells the deal—Magnum is an entertainer first, with the timing and crowd instincts earned from years fronting one of Central Texas’ busiest party bands.
