Brodie Lane

Brodie Lane is an Austin roots-rock band led by veteran Texas songwriter, singer and guitarist AJ Vallejo. The group came together during the 2020 shutdown, when Vallejo began playing informal sessions with longtime friends and fellow musicians while the city’s usual live-music schedule was on hold. Those gatherings developed into a full band and gave Vallejo a new home for songs that leaned beyond the harder rock and Latin influences associated with his work in Vallejo.

The band blends Americana, folk storytelling, Southern rock and melodic pop into songs about adult relationships, mistakes, loyalty and the difficult work of holding a life together. Vallejo’s weathered vocals and personal writing sit at the center, backed by layered guitars, strong harmonies and a rhythm section capable of moving from laid-back Texas grooves to a louder, road-tested rock sound.

Brodie Lane’s recordings include the album Pain Is Gold and songs such as “Stuck with You,” “Come Home to You,” “Right Here With You” and “Renegade.” The live lineup has included guitarist Ray Kainz, drummer Alex Geismar and bassist Stefan Ringer alongside Vallejo, bringing together musicians with deep experience in the Austin and Texas rock scenes.

Although Brodie Lane began during an unusually quiet chapter in Austin music, the band was never intended to remain a casual side project. Its songs are polished but personal, built for listeners who appreciate thoughtful Americana songwriting with enough guitar power and live energy to fill a much larger stage.
