About
Born Without Bones started in Milford, Massachusetts as Scott Ayotte’s solo sketch in 2009—then became a band when Jonathan Brucato and Jim Creighton joined, carrying DNA from Ayotte’s years in The Hotelier into something rawer. Wikipedia and SPIN frame the arc: Say Hello (2010), the intimate bruise of Baby (2013), Young at the Bend (2017), and a late streaming surge that nearly convinced Ayotte to quit before it forced him back into the room.
That second life produced Dancer (2022) for Pure Noise, produced by Mike Sapone (Taking Back Sunday, Brand New)—grungy alt-rock and midwest-emo honesty SPIN treated as a reintroduction. “Stone,” “Cheap Fun,” and the “Dancer” video became the face of a private band loud enough for Boston Calling and national clubs. In 2026 Ryan McKenna (Sorority Noise, Prawn) joined on bass. Born Without Bones don’t cosplay youth; they write like people who almost walked away—and then didn’t.
