Blossom

Blossom is San Diego shoegaze led by Mateo Ruiz, a Chula Vista native who started the project in high school and grew it from a duo into a three-piece. Blood Makes Noise placed the sound next to Slowdive wash and Whirr-weight heavygaze—giant chords, syrupy vocals, and lyrics about love, longing, and time slipping away.

Really Rad Records released Florecer, including “Warm Stay”; later single “Garden of Words” stretched the melancholic side into sprawling atmospheres. Live, Blossom has documented Music Box dates and full-session videos across the catalog. Stream Florecer and Garden of Words, watch the official “Warm Stay” video, and follow @blossomtheband.
