Anyone Awake

Anyone Awake came out of Rigby, Idaho—small enough that standing out can feel like a liability—and turned that friction into a band name. Formed in 2022 by lifelong friends Cassius Coleman (vocals, guitar) and Sam Butterfield (bass), with Joseph DeSoto on lead guitar and Seth Chamberlain on drums, they write guitar-forward indie rock about nostalgia, heartbreak, hope, and growing up. Their site frames the project as an invitation to feel awake where sleepwalking is the default.

The catalog is early but specific: Bandcamp’s Bushel and a Peck, “String Theory,” Rugs Unplugged’s “Under the Rug,” and the official video for “I’d Want Anyone.” They claim more than a million streams and a self-booked forty-day national run in 2026—routing only bands who book their own vans understand. Live: loud, melodic, a little raw, a conversation with whoever drove farthest.
